Teen Vogue: Stevante Clark is Running for Mayor of Sacramento

Stevante Clark is Running for Mayor of Sacramento

Stevante Clark is running for Mayor of Sacramento after his younger brother, Stephon Clarke (22 years of age) was shot to death by Sacramento police officers as they "mistook" his cell phone for a gun and murdered him in his Grandmother's back yard. Stevante Clarke gained public attention when he stood in front of a confrontation at a Sacramento City Council meeting telling people the council had failed them.

In my opinion this is hard news as it has to do with politics and a major racial issue that has become dominant in the United States of America. It touches upon the death of a young black man who did not deserve it.

People would read this for surveillance and personal identity:

- People of the same race may be able to relate to the young boy or people who belong in minority groups overall will feel more passionate about this racial abuse

- People could use this article as surveillance seeing as the treatment of black people is a movement that is being followed very frequently in the recent days and this is just another example of how people of a minority group are treated unfairly.

I feel like this is an example of both quality journalism and click bait seeing as it does report upon a serious situation and it does promote the problems of racism and an injustice system however the title of this story is due to have many people wanting to read it as it is negative and people tend to like reading these types of articles.
