Denotation:  The denotation of this advert is 50 cent promoting a clothing line to the target audience.   I can tell this because at the bottom right of the advertisement I can see Reebok's logo which makes it obvious that they are trying to sell one of their products. Connotation: What I can infer from this poster is that Reebok are trying to send across a deep message which almost pressures people to buy their product . From the image I can tell that they used a celebrity which many youth and teenagers recognise which makes them want to purchase the item because they will think it is cool or be inspired because they will see that a person that is well known is popularising them. Also the quote included on the photo makes it very clear that it is trying to relate to people who are probably not that wealthy and they used someone (50 Cent) who can connect and understand this market of people. 1) What type of text is it? - It is a magazine. 2) How do you know? What are the key conventions that allowed you to identify the text? - It has a title which makes it obvious that it is a magazine and it has a central image, the layout of the text makes it very obvious that it is a magazine. You  can also tell that it is aimed at a younger audience seeing as it has a small amount of text. 3) In your opinion, who is the target audience for this media text? - In my opinion the target audience is youth/young adults because it is about make up which is more of a teenage topic or interest and its not really much of a thing that elderly people would be interested in 4) How would this audience access the text?
