The Voice: Windrush wrongly removed

Windrush: Three People Wrongly Removed Flown Back To UK

3 passengers who were wrongly deported from the United Kingdom have been allowed back into the UK and the Home Office even paid their flights back which departed from Kingston, Jamaica and arrived at London, Gatwick. In total up to this day, 13 people who were deported from the UK have been given the right to return back.

This is an example of hard news as it talks upon the topic of immigration and especially focuses on the Wind rush generation which is a very recent situation.

Why would it appeal to the audience?

Personal Identity: People who are from the Caribbean or are even a part of the Wind Rush generation can relate to the people being reported on as they too are from the same place or may even have family members that have been affected by this.

Surveillance: Many people would like to keep track of what is going on with the deportation of the Windrush generation since it began and this article helps.

This is an example of quality journalism as it was not published for simple reasons such as profit and entertainment, instead it lets people know what is going on with people that have been deported.
