The Voice: A White Man Who Punched A Young Black Boy Walks Free

The young 15 year old boy was running for the bus with his mother and his two little siblings and he accidentally barged a pram. The father of the baby then started to racially abuse the little boy calling him a "Black c***", the young boys mother attempted to stop the abuse but the man pushed her causing her to fall onto the bus and severely hurt her head, she was taken to hospital. In a statement he said: “I initiated a confrontation with the boy having mistakenly thought that he had run and bashed into my son’s pram. The judge had said that his choice of words were a reaction to his child's pram being pushed so he was not arrested however he was "given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to do 180 hours of community service at Bolton Crown Court".

In my opinion this is hard news as it touches upon a racial issue that is currently a problem in our society and it involves violence and the injuries of an innocent person which makes the article more severe.

I feel like people could use this for Personal Identity and Surveillance because:

- People of the same race may be able to relate to the young boy or people who belong in minority groups overall will feel more passionate about this racial abuse

- People could use this article as surveillance seeing as the treatment of black people is a movement that is being followed very frequently in the recent days and this is just another example of how people of a minority group are treated unfairly.

I feel like this is an example of both quality journalism and click bait seeing as it does report upon a serious situation and it does promote the problems of racism and an injustice system however the title of this story is due to have many people wanting to read it as it is negative and people tend to like reading these types of articles.
