Trans Performers Share the Challenges They Still Face and Their Hopes for the Future

These transgender performers talk about the struggles and discrimination they face in society, and even more serious personal problems such as being disowned by their parents because of their gender identity and the choice they have made to transition. They argue that it is important that the trans community is promoted in the media in order to give that certain community more exposure and accept it as a party of society now. Most of this article is based on transgenders wanting to feel "comfortable in [their] own skin" but sometimes media makes them seem different.

In my opinion this is an example of hard news as it is becoming a bigger problem in society and the number of people in the LGBT community is increasing everyday which means that much more of the public will have the same views as this article and feel affected by it.

I think this would mostly appeal to an audience because they can relate (personal identity) and they would be able to discuss and build friendships with others in the same community (personal relationships).

I would class this as quality journalism seeing as it is a serious matter and people who actually have experiences and first time opinions from the people they have interviewed.
