Magazine research

Magazine practical task: blog work

Research:

1) Use your lesson notes on magazine genres and conventions to view a range of potential magazine covers. Create a shortlist of three potential magazines and embed an example front cover from each one.

2) Select your chosen magazine to create a new edition for and explain the thinking behind your choice.

I have chosen a fashion magazine to create a new edition for seeing as it is the one that genuinely interests me the most and it has a nice and simple but classy cover which is personally the best one I think I could do.

3) Find three different front covers for your chosen magazine and embed them in your blogpost. Analyse the fonts, colours and typical design. What is the language or writing style? How are the cover lines presented? You need to become an expert in the design and construction of this magazine and its branding.

From these three example front covers I can clearly see that Vogue attempt to make the cover as classy and rich looking as they can. They use colours such as gold, grey, white and black which makes it look professional to a high extent.
They all write certain things bigger then other sub headings so we can pay attention to important information first, for example "Zendaya, actor, activist, it girl" all written in capitals.
They all seem to talk about the season for example:
"a season of feathers, florals, faux fur", "spring fashion issue", "fall for all"
